Your Support & Election Transparency
Giving Tuesday is when EPEC Team asks for support to continue this unique nonprofit.
Dear EPEC Team Reader,
Since the launch of EPEC Team with its unique focus on election technology, voter-data systems, and promoting transparency in election systems, this little nonprofit with a big name has filled a much-needed space in election infrastructure.
On Giving Tuesday (and beyond), we hope you would consider a donation to help us grow our mission of driving transparency and trust in election systems.

With your continued support, EPEC Team can expand our educational mission across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
It starts with voter-data transparency.
The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) requires states to provide voter-list data and maintenance to the public at a “reasonable” cost.
In Virginia, “reasonable” can average at least $25,000 annually for the basics. Plus, we invest in high-end servers, other hardware, software and analytics, plus a lot of processes to produce breakthrough findings, reports, and public education — all with a skilled technology team and volunteers.
Thanks to your support, EPEC has achieved the following in 2024:
Thousands of potentially duplicate voter registrations, including more than 450 voters who appear to have cast multiple ballots, which we flagged for fixing.
Registrations of voters who are improbably 117 years old, and other data questions such as 197,077 voters with unique IDs that showed one or more countable ballots in the early voting Daily Absentee List (DAL). This led to more awareness of voter data quality.
Thousands of noncitizens who have been casting ballots in Virginia for years before they confirmed they were not eligible and were removed from the rolls by the Dept. of Elections. This work continues.
Launched a voter data-analysis service for qualified groups with unique intellectual property and software developed for EPEC by our volunteer CTO, Jon Lareau.
Recruited more volunteers to join the cause, and contribute to our outreach to general registrars, election integrity working groups, and media.
Achieved media coverage and ongoing interest in election systems, growth in our newsletters and publications and improvements to EPEC FOIA and Knowledge Library as a service to Virginia.
Provided expert data systems analysis to help the public and general registrars we work with understand and improve their service to the voting public.
This is just a sampling of our impact. It takes a lot of behind-the-scenes processing, and oversight — but we have built out a system that supports our education mission.
With your help, we can continue this work in 2025 ahead of bellwether elections for governor and assembly seats in Virginia.
Also on the horizon: the new Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS) to replace the VERIS registration system, which is rolling out in 2025.
We plan to provide research, analysis, and coverage of all of it. Our charitable mission also extends to helping election-integrity groups in other states.
On this Giving Tuesday, on behalf of the EPEC Team volunteers and board of directors, we thank you for your support!
